Global specialty (re)insurance group Chaucer has appointed Angus Mulgate (pictured) as head of distribution. In his new role, Milgate will focus on strengthening key relationships and creating growth opportunities.

Milgate brings three decades of industry experience to the position, having held roles at major broking firms in London and internationally. His most recent position was with McGill and Partners.

Milgate will report to Nicola Stacey, Chaucer’s chief underwriting officer, and is due to join the company in October.

Spink was selected to replace David Bendel, who is retiring at the end of 2024 after 22 years of service.

Baker, meanwhile, was brought on board after Chaucer teamed up with Gabriel and Meryl Herzog to develop an active-assault product for the US market.
